Report of fire accident occurrence
On December 31, 2022, there was an accident where a fire broke out from the wood-burning sauna building in the public bath (The Rakan Bath) of Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel.
Immediately, we evacuated the customers and at the same time called 119 and had them carry out firefighting activities. Thanks to the swift firefighting activities of the local fire department and fire brigade, there were no injuries to customers or employees. In addition, we were able to avoid the spread of the fire to other buildings because the fire was discovered and reported early, the firewood sauna building was an independent building, and the fire was extinguished accurately. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the fire fighting activities. The cause of the fire in the firewood sauna building is currently under investigation.
Currently, under the permission and guidance of the fire department of the jurisdiction, after thorough safety confirmation, the men's and women's large baths (male sauna room, female sauna room, female mist sauna room, cafe rest room, indoor bath, open-air bath) except for the firewood sauna building ) has resumed operations. However, for the guests who have booked our hotel (accommodation/day trip bathing) to enjoy the wood-burning sauna at The Rakan Bath, the wood-burning sauna will not be available for the time being. For customers who have made a reservation, if you make a request for cancellation, we will cancel all cancellations in advance and on the day of the reservation free of charge, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
In the future, we will strengthen fire source management and safety management so that such a thing will never happen again, and we will thoroughly work to prevent recurrence.
We deeply apologize for causing a great deal of inconvenience and concern to everyone, and for falling short of the expectations of everyone who has supported and supported us.
